How to Make the Best Rabokki Ever (Yes, There's a Trick!)
How to Make the Best Rabokki Ever
(Yes, There's a Trick!)
It might be a simple dish, but this one small tip makes a huge difference—especially if you're sharing it with friends who are new to Korean food!
Here’s the secret:
Rice cakes are made from rice, ramen noodles from wheat.
When you pour in boiling water, the noodles cook much faster than the rice cakes.
So, layer matters!
Step 1: Place the rice cakes at the bottom.
Step 2: Put the ramen noodles on top.

This way, the tteok cooks fully and soaks up all that tasty sauce, while the noodles stay perfectly chewy.
If you do it the other way around, the noodles get mushy and the rice cakes stay undercooked.
Koreans might think, “Well, duh!”—but trust me, your international friends will think it’s genius.
Now go enjoy that perfect bowl of rabokki: soft tteok, chewy noodles, and loads of flavor. Yum!
