Creamy, chewy, and full of Korean comfort.
Soft rice cakes coated in rich cheese sauce — ready in just 2 minutes in the microwave.
Perfect for a quick snack, cozy movie night, study break, or anytime you need a little happy bite.
A little Korean comfort, ready in one cute cup.
I've wanted to try the rice cake noodles and I wasn't disappointed they were exactly as I expected them to be. I did them the first time the way the directions were on the cup and the only thing I added at the end was a little bit of chili crunch oil. It gave it a little spice. However the cheese powder is extremely tasty that comes with this and if you like you don't have to just use water you could maybe mix it with a little milk if you wanted to creamy or it was perfect for me it had a creamy texture I imagine from the starch on the rice cakes and they were chewy and spongy soft and just the way I imagined and they were very good. The second time I use them I mix them with brown ground chicken spring onion and added a tablespoon of cream to the sauce and again the chili crunch oil and they were just delicious I like adding the little hit of spice to give it a little more interest and the next time I make them I'm going to do them with some additional vegetables I will continue to use these and put them with ramen 2 so there's so many different ways that they can be used. These were good value for the money and they have been very enjoyable as a new item to try.
The cup arrived crushed, so I was unable to microwave it in the cup per the instructions. I put everything in a bowl to cook it. I had to microwave it significantly longer, but it may have been due to this. This snack cup tastes like a cross between Mac n cheese and chicken soup. It definitely has a chicken boullion flavor with the cheese sauce. I actually really liked the flavor. I did add some mozzarella cheese to thicken the sauce up. I appreciate that it wasn’t spicy. Many tteokbokki are and some are way too spicy for me to eat. This was a nice way to enjoy the texture of the rice cakes without all the spice. It is easy to make, just add everything to the cup, add water and cook. It would normally be very quick to make and would be a good snack or light meal. The cup had a lot of sauce, but not many rice cakes. I probably wouldn’t spend this much on a cup of this size, unless you got multiples. I didn’t consider it a good value for one cup of this size. But I did enjoy it and would buy it if it were cheaper.
If you're new to Korean food, these are little rice cakes, similar to mochi, with a texture a bit like gnocchi. The come sealed and dehydrated, and soften up during cooking.
For those of you in the know, these are the best 'instant' ones I've had! A lot of the microwavable options come out dry on one side, and end up too chewy. These cook really evenly, and taste like Korean Mac-n-cheese.
There's a HINT of spice in the flavor, but not enough that it lingers on your lips when you're done. The flavor is really mild for packaged Korean treats, which I love for me (I'm not really big on spice).
Takes less time in the microwave than other brands, and is really simple to make on the go. I keep them in my drawer at work for days that I don't bring lunch, or just need a little afternoon snack. It is a really filling food, and comes with a good amount, so I'm full most of the way thru one cup, but finish it for the flavor.
Price is kinda high for a single, so go ahead and get the 6-pack, you'll thank me later! Individual cakes are smaller than the ones you get at the grocery store in larger packs, but big enough for two bites if you wanted to eat slowly.
DELICIOUS! i love rice cakes and the cheese is really lovely, you get a lot of the powder too. it does come out rather soupy but i dont mind, the cakes are filling and the best texture. my roomie also tried a bite and it he said it was also good (but weird lol) it was his first time. i hope they come out with many more flavors.
